BLOTTER: Deputy responds to spat over which decade had better music, '70s or '80s

BLOTTER: Deputy responds to spat over which decade had better music, '70s or '80s: "A Bay County sheriff’s deputy was recently pulled into the age-old dispute between rockers: Which decade was better musically, the ’70s or the ’80s?

The deputy reported arriving to the sound of a man and woman “arguing from inside the residence.” The deputy noted that once he knocked on the door and a man answered, the arguing immediately stopped and he noticed a woman was present.

“While speaking with the woman she couldn’t give a reason why they were arguing but the man advised that they were arguing over there choice in music, ’70s and ’80s music,” the deputy wrote. “I did not observe anything to make me believe there was any kind of violence that occurred and both stated they were only arguing. Both also stated that they used to be in a relationship with each other and had been broken up for several years but had resided together at the listed address for two to three years.”

The deputy left them alone to hash out whether the ’70s, known as the era of disco, or the ’80s, which were big years for the likes of Prince, Madonna and Michael Jackson, would come out on top musically."
